Arthur Big new Tank Engine - Thomas and Friends

Arthur is the new Big Tank Engine that shunts Trucks and Pulls Freight.

He is also the one that is very Big, but has a big heart as well forgiving Thomas for the things he did to get Arhtur in a Mess.

The Die Cast models featured here are based on the Children television serie that started in 1984 as Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends.

This serie is based on The Railway Series written by W.V. Awdry and later extended by his Son Christopher Awdry

One of Crhistophers favourite rhyms was this one:

Early in the morning,
Down at the station,
All the little engines
Standing in a row.

Along comes the driver,
Pulls a little lever
Puff puff, chuff chuff,
Off we go!

Lesney and Die Cast Matchbox Models

Lesney began making diecast toys in 1947. Their popular Matchbox 1-75 series was so named because there were always 75 different vehicles in the line, each packaged in a small box designed to look like those used for matches. These toys became so popular that "Matchbox" was widely used as a generic term for any diecast toy car

When I was a young boy I got Matchox's Models of YesterYear on my Birthday for several years in a row.

I still have those cars and some more...and now my boys are collection the Thomas and Friends take Alogn series.
